First days of spring

Sun on the sky, warmer temperatures, longer days and everything seems greener. People smile more often. Spring has finally came. And till now, to my surprise, not a drop of rain.

I have recently purchased some really interesting items to support my photography hobby, you can see them below: wooden carved table (bought for £5,00) and some vintage porcelain cups and plates.

I have also been busy working on my mum's project, Qaffka Crafts. My mum crochets and knits various items, mostly hats and scarfs, but for the spring time we came out with some new project ideas. The result can be seen on the pictures below.

Yarn used for this project has been ordered from Portugal. It comes from overproduction or production leftovers of textile industry. We loved it straight away, because of its chunky texture and endless possibilities but mostly because of where it comes from: a waste. I absolutely love the facts that we can re-use something that would previously be disposed, that we can give it a new life through our creations. Fabric yarn, also known as a T-Shirt yarn, can be easily produced at home from any old T-Shirt. You can find plenty of guides on how to do so on-line.

When you walk your dog often in the same park, you make friends. And your dog makes new friends too.
Meet Poppy`s current playgroup, all dogs different breeds, ages and temperaments. All of them, despite differences are very smart, friendly and loyal companions

It is not always easy to eat well. Thousands of excuses: no time, no power, no ideas...

Eating well does not have to be difficult. Below you can find my lunch idea: fast, easy and fuss-free.

What's on the plate?
- corn salad
- rocket salad
- radish
- tomatoes
- fried eggs (fried without oil)
- avocado
- grilled halloumi cheese
- sauce of yoghurt, spoon of mayonnaise, mustard and sweet paprika powder

How was it prepared?
In the meantime, while frying eggs, I have chopped and sliced the rest of ingredients and prepared the sauce, so not much time needed for a healthy, delicious and light meal.

I try to use organic vegetables in my meals. I usually buy them from Village Greens shop or a small market stand with organic foods just in front of Arndale Shopping centre. Organic foods usually tastes better than the ones we can find in big supermarkets, especially when it comes to vegetables that you eat raw. Just to clarify, I am not organic-crazy person and as I do not have much free time most of my shopping comes from my local supermarket.

Days are too short and definitely too grey. Spring should come faster and wake everything up. Wake me up...

25 minutes train ride from Manchester Victoria train station brought me to Dovestone Reservoir, green, amazing place on the borderline of Oldham and Peak District. Great for an escape from the city, so calm, open and endless.
Sometimes you do not have to travel far to discover the beauty of the world. Sometimes it waits just behind your doors.
